New Years Resolutions, 2011-2012Last Year’s Success Chart:
GET MY DRIVER’S LICENSE.
- Pull off straight A’s on my transcript.
- Draw the portrait version of my “left sleeve tattoo.”
Play more piano.
- Use less internet lingo.
- Be able to do ~100 push-ups and work on my nonexistent abs.
Stick to this Facebook challenge I’m attending.
- Visit Jesus and Fishie. Then take pictures.
Travel to New York for my 21st birthday.
- Finish my sketchbook that Kaylah gave to me for my birthday years ago.
- STOP PROCRASTINATING.
Okay, so I didn’t really pay attention to last years resolutions. If anything, I used more internet lingo. A whole bunch of circumstances have changed the way this year played out and I suppose that has to do in part with 7 (which was to say ‘Yes’ to everything, AKA “The Yes Man Challenge”). As a result, I feel that I’ve gotten more social and confident. So, in a way, I guess I still achieved a bit of what I wanted to do.
I was actually surprised that I got the stuff I did crossed off. I think I would have managed to visit LA more than New York, but it ended up being the opposite. I also found that I was able to maintain a strong streak of push ups and stuff, so I’ve maintained myself if anything. And of course, the big one, I FINALLY got my license! I spend a lot of time giving rides to people to pay back my karma as it was for having asked for so many rides in the past. As it turns out, I like being a taxi.
2012 is going to be an important year. This will pretty much be the year that will determine where my life will be going seeing as, you know, I’m graduating from college and stuff. Time to start anew.
New Years Resolutions for 2012:
- GET A JOB.
- Keep working to build Alpha Kappa Psi at UCSC.
- Make some connections with my frat brothers.
- Make connections with firms and work toward my CPA.
- Try not to speak as softly/Speak with more confidence.
- Go see/rent a movie once a week.
- Read more books.
- Workout everyday (in hopes of a slimmer figure).
- Design that left sleeve tattoo.
- Draw something new everyday, maybe an art project once a month.
- Make a trip to LA, Canada, and/or New York and visit friends.
So yeah, intense. If you feel like helping out with any of these, (words of encouragement, good book/movie suggestions, sketch requests), I would welcome it. It’s going to be a tough year, but I also need to make time for myself and time for friends.
This year will test my time management skills more than anything. -SIGH-
For HalloweenI think I’m going to be a hipster.
All I would need is:
Sims hipster shoes
Thick rimmed glasses
Obnoxious sized headphones
- Corduroy or
elegant sports coat
Ironic shirt
Scarf
- Cut off jean shorts
- Overly large beanie
Alternatively:
- Collared shirt with bow-tie
Suspenders
- Tux vest
- Cardigan
Extra:
Pocket watch
- Small and non-functional satchel
- Homemade scarf (made from a torn and bleached old shirt)
- Vinyl records
Beard and mustache
So yeah, I’m almost done with my costume.
Todolist for the rest of the day:ojay:
All in order:
1. Study for history.
2. Study for English.
3. Go to history class.
4. Go home.
5. Run for 30 minutes.
6. Study for history.
7. Do english homework and study for vocab quiz.
8. Attempt to do crunches.
9. Sleep.
And in between all of that: tumblr. Haha.
Here I go! (:
In order:
- Go satisfy my orange chicken cravings.
- Pick up a couple of things at Safeway.
- Possibly nap.
- Work on my Management of Technology homework.
- Work on my Computer Science “Lab.”
- Do the readings for Econ Development.
- Sleep.
Tumblr is a constant, of course.
And yeah…
So I went to advising today for a couple of reasons.
- The Econ department decided to freak everyone out and email everyone saying that there is a new requirement for all Econ related majors.
- My student portal does not recognize the two semesters of calculus I took in junior college as my lower math core requirement.
- I want to add on a minor in Information Systems Management.
And what happened was:
- No one was available at the Economics department, other than the graduate adviser who directed me to my college advisers.
- The one faculty member in charge of ISM related advising is busy promoting ISM related programs around campus—and directed me to my college advisers.
- I went to my college adviser, Ursula, and she
told reassured me that I didn’t need to take any other extra core classes and basically emailed everyone involved.
So, after freaking out for half a day, I am back to where I’m started.
Thank you, UCSC, for making me feel like I accomplished something—when really I just went in both a literal and a figurative circle.
This is what i did today in order:ojay:
1. woke up
2. got dressed
3. went to church
4. had 9-11 service while in the nursery watching toddlers
5. had mien service
6. had church meeting
7. came home
8. went to taco bell for taco sunday
9. tumblr’d while taco bellin’
10. decided i wanted to be a maid
11. learned parts of the Renai Circulation dance thing
12. practice Lonely on guitar
13. play some diner dash…because hehe.
14. sleep.
what a day. (:
Here’s what I did yesterday:
- Woke up.
- Had pancakes.
- Tumblr’d.
- Made a list for stuff for my car.
- Made a list for stuff to move in to Santa Cruz.
- Went to Target. (This was when Taka was texting me about Taco Bell Sunday).
- Brought home Panda Express for mom and myself. (The drive-thru line at Taco Bell was super long and I was hungry).
- Started playing words with friends (And beat Double D within 10 minutes).
- Watched Legally Blonde.
- Tumblr’d some more.
- Tried to learn a few more songs on my iPod.
- Sleep.
So in other words, busy and kind of bittersweet.
Blogger’s DilemmaThings I like to blog about (in order from most important):
- People I know/meet.
- Adventures I have, (tagged: rabbiventures).
- Music close to my heart.
- Conversations/stories that I have/witness.
- Drawings.
- Lists.
- FOOD.
- Pictures of my nephews.
- Random art projects.
- Awesome music covers.
- Random rants/confessions.
- New music I stumble across.
- Interesting videos.
- Outfits I want/hope to wear.
- Math related posts.
- Well done music parodies.
- Witty quotes from family/people I know/TV shows/books.
- Hobby posts.
- Movie reviews.
- Anything else on Tumblr that’s funny.
- Self absorbed posts with semi-relevant .gif attachments.
So my blog faces a problem whenever I become an antisocial, unmotivated, boring fool who watches NCIS marathons all day.
For Real NowHere’s a list of things that are on my mind right now:
- Emma Watson is awesome. Bar none.
- The Closer actually seems like it’s getting more involved and in turn more interesting. It’s a shame that it’s the last season, though.
- I have some concept ideas for Dustin’s birthday gift.
- When they’ll come to fruition is another story.
- He has yet to get his Valentine’s card, five months later.
- Yes I got him a V-Day card, mainly for two reasons.
- For one, the card I found is in Spanish.
- Two, he is my forever Valentine.
- Is there a problem with a man expressing his platonic and undying love to another man in card form?
- I thought not.
- Anyway…
- Emma Watson.
- I’m so nervous about my driving test you don’t even know.
- Rizolli & Isles is like an extreme version of Bones, with more twists per minute of show time, more death threats, and the main cop and scientist are lesbians.
- No they’re not, but it’s highly suggestive in being that way.
- Why did my mom have to get a tower fan?
- It’s like a freezer in this room half the time.
- The other half I can’t tell because my extremities have gone numb.
- There are times where I have seen my breath.
- There are times where I have seen my breath while it was sweltering hot outside.
- There are times where I have seen my breath while it was sweltering hot outside and I thought Is this is what Robert Frost meant by dying of fire and ice? Well f—
- I’m going to queue this post for tomorrow.
- Or rather later today.
- It is the 12th.
- Hooray.
- … You know what?
- No.
- I’m posting it right now; That way the title would be more relevant as it immediately follows my previous list post.
- I’m too lazy to change the title.
- But not too lazy to add a link to my preceding list.
- Or to confirm that my use of a semicolon was correct.
- This makes no sense.
- I must be losing sleep.
- Good night.
- Oh but first:

This has been a list.
My Plans for Independence Day… Uhhh…
- Baking cakes.
- Eating homemade nachos.
- Jump in a pool.
- Work out at the gym.
- Maybe start drawing some sketches.
- Sleep.
