So, on Friday, Gabe and I took a road trip with the intent of getting lost.
We drove up north on Highway 1 and ended up sight seeing on the different beaches, rocking out to KPop, and walking around downtown Half Moon Bay.
Later, we went to San Francisco and drove around forever, going down random streets, until we found this untouched hill in the middle of the city. We climbed to the top and we were greeted with a fantastic view of the city at sunset.
Gabe took a lot more better photos on his camera, but this was what I was able to capture on my cell phone.
The year is almost done and so is my time as a student. In a little over a month, I’ll be graduating with my BA and I’ll have moved on into the next chapter of my life.
What makes this sad and depressing is that I am turning my college career into memories. The places I’ve been to, the experiences I’ve had, and the new friends I made will be the things I look back on. Sure, I’m not physically leaving everyone forever, but I’ll be looking at this chapter as a new person.
I am especially thankful for having gone to that bonfire night and to have met all of these wonderful people. Just this past school year alone, I feel that I can tackle the world with greater confidence. My fellow brothers, I thank you.
There’s still work to be done, (thank goodness), so I won’t be saying good bye just yet.
Currently using my hands to generate wind so that the cool aloe burn relief gel can feel like it’s working.
Today, I played dodgeball/capture the ‘flag’ with other chapter brothers. Seeing as only three of us came from UCSC, we were put on the pledge team against the actives… Well, it turned out great because WE BEAT THEM!
Sure, the chapter brothers thought it was an easy game and that they were putting us new guys in our place. I guess it turned out differently than what they were expecting (IN YOUR FACE!). It really came down to the wire as numbers were dwindling on both sides until it was 1 vs 1. And, I was able to catch two balls, which is a pretty good accomplishment by my standards.
I guess the only downfall today is that my face got really sun burned. Oh well…
And in case you didn’t know, I’m currently in Reno.
I’ve been spending time, on and off, mingling and bonding with my frat brothers. Right now, I’m trying to go to sleep in anticipation of driving us back all the way to Santa Cruz tomorrow morning.
I guess I should post pictures of myself since it’s been awhile…
Alan took these photos on Valentine’s day. Me and Michelle on the left and me and Jonathan on the right. I don’t know what I was doing in the left picture. The right one, though, we wanted to do a bromance one and I kind of one upped him. I’ll probably expect retaliation for it soon…
My housemate, Renee, would also like me to let you know that the flowers I posed with in the second picture belong to her and that I used them as a prop without her permission… Yeah.
