The Small Moments

Going through the motions of everyday life can be tedious, but noticing those small moments makes this journey conspicuously captivating. This is my philosophy.

In short, what you see is what you get. My interests are varied and my thoughts are open. This is probably the closest representation of who I am that I can give out, so if you're not scared let's hang, k? K.

Fanime 2012.

These are the few pictures I was able to take on the count of my phone dying pretty much half the time during the con.

I loved seeing all the cosplay and meeting the new people. It’s pretty cool to see the characters just roam the halls of the convention center and blending in with the crowd. Overall, I felt that there was a decent amount of good cosplayers this year.

Sooner or later, I might be brave enough to do my own cosplay. Maybe…

Here’s some of my swag from Fanime:
A bunch of pins that I found either cute and awesome, (don’t judge, I got all three of the enemy symbols from KH, nyan cat, and a charmander in a top hat and monocle).
My new red headphones that I originally regretted buying at first.
I had a set of white headphones already that I was going to use for my cosplay.
These headphones, however, had red on them and made the effort of finding the ‘red ears’ for my cosplay design much easier.
These headphones also became useful three hours after purchase when I finally broke my latest pair of earphones.
Anyway, continuing on with the list…
An anime portrait of myself with my new red headphones—which I’m probably going to give to my mom when I get back home for the summer.
A commissioned tie clip for my outfit for the B&W Ball.
Psycho Psushi donuts.
A poster of a ‘web comic’ from one of my favorite artists, yuumei, on dA.
Two prints, one for Taka, one for Josep.
I seriously go through ear/headphones too quickly.

Where was this at the convention? I would so hang out with these people.

Dustin and I at the B&W Ball.
I tried to bring out the red tie in this photo because I totally discovered how to do it with my crummy photo editing program.
I miss using tablets and styluses.

This photo is definitely brighter… Sometimes I wish I had professional camera equipment.

Jon and Dustin at Fanime.
I don’t know how Jon did it, but he basically did not prepare for a trip to Fanime but still managed to end up with a room, a badge, and a cosplay outfit.
He is talented. O:
(I added a link to Jon’s Tumblr because he was advertising it all over the convention with drawings on post it notes. Clever marketing move, btw…)

Arcanine and I at Fanime.
This has to be one of my all time favorite pictures of myself. Not only am I halfway decent looking, I’m also taking a photo with one of my favorite Pokemon of all time. The Arcanine cosplayer played into her role very well. Almost too well, seeing as she was egging me on to pet her and stuff. She was cool though!

My ‘cosplay’ outfit.
This was what I wore on Saturday during Fanime. It was supposed to be a Gallade gijinka outfit, (human form of the Pokemon, Gallade), but I think it would work so much better with the red sunglasses—that I accidentally forgot—and some sort of white vest.

Misa (me) and rikku (Amber) sing What’s up, People!? at Fanime 2011, Gong show.

‘She came up to the mike looking all cute in her outfit, and then she screamed out BAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW’

Definitely one of my favorite performances of that Gong Show.

Sunday @ Fanime.
We just came back from dancing at the B&W Ball and hanging out with friends at Karaoke. Now it’s time for psycho psushi.
(Not sushi, they’re donuts)
